I particularly wanted an ocean view for such a grand occasion, so we chose Vigilucci's. We drove down to Carlsbad to celebrate my sister-in-law's 80th birthday and wanted to take her somewhere special for lunch. Visiting from Arizona, don't offer a repeat experience. I was provided the lame excuse 'we can't see that request here'. Also had to insist on an inside table after specifying it on our reservation. Maybe it's a California metric too fast, too efficient, too impersonal, too inhospitable. They're so intent on turning their tables that they fail to provide pleasant, hospitable service. She never returned until we were finished. Although they accommodated my wife's requirement for no garlic, the grilled mixed vegetables and the baked potato were lukewarm to cold. Honestly we had a better meal at the Bluewater Grill the previous evening. Unfortunately, our anticipation and enthusiasm was not justified. We finally managed to obtain a reservation after many attempts.
